Full Instructions

To be accepted for intake, dogs and cats six months and older should not be fed or have access to food after midnight the night before surgery.

Dogs or cats under 6 months should not be fed or have access to food after 7am. Water is always fine.

Check in is from 8:00-8:30am on the scheduled day of surgery. C-SNIP is located at 1675 Viewpond SE, Kentwood, MI 49508. Show a map.

Payment is due at check in and can be made by cash or credit. We do not accept checks.

All cats arriving at C-SNIP must be in a secure carrier. Cats arriving more than one to a carrier may need to be separated after surgery, in which case a $5 cardboard carrier purchase will be assigned. If you are bringing a feral cat for surgery, please cover the trap with a sheet or blanket.

Dogs arriving at C-SNIP must be securely leashed or in a carrier.

Because check-in is a busy and hectic time and can be stressful for animals, pets must remain in vehicles while humans check them in. Please park and join the check-in line while your dog or cat waits in the car.

The check-in line almost always extends outside. Clients are encouraged to dress for the weather to avoid an unpleasant wait.

Due to limited kennel space and thorough cleaning and medical protocols, the building does not have the capacity to board dogs or cats beyond the scheduled aftercare instructions and release times. Dogs are released to owners at 4pm on the day of surgery. Cats are released at 7:30 the following morning. If an owner or designated representative is not on time to retrieve their pet, a $25 holding fee will automatically be assessed. If the owner or representative is more than 30 minutes late, C-SNIP reserves the right to turn the animal over to a local shelter as abandoned.

Please contact C-SNIP at 616.455.8220 to rebook your surgery if:

  • Your dog or cat shows any signs of illness within 7 days of surgery, including vomiting, diarrhea, coughing, or discharge from the nose or mouth.
  • Your appointment is for a female dog, and she goes into heat.
